Europe on a Virago Day 9 Loire Valley, Villandry

Weather looked Ugh. 16 degrees, completely overcast and rain chance 40%. took me a while to get out of the E54.75 ($82) Ibis Budget room in Blois.
Bridge over the Loire at Blois.
Rode West along the bank of the river until Amboise.
Was originally going to camp on the island in this picture but the weather is just not nice.
Found 'les Clos Luces' which is the house that Leonardo Da Vinci lived in for the last three years of his life from 1514.
He moved here by mule back over the alps from Italy with the Mona Lisa in his saddlebags.
The house and garden are full of copies of the mechanical devices invented by Leonardo.

It is used by school groups and has several interest catching exhibits.
In the grounds is the old priory which is now a cafe.
Left here and motored further on to Villandry where there is a big Chateau and extensive renaissance gardens
The herb garden
The vegie garden
Jumped back on the bike under threatening skies and was very happy to get home without getting wet.
